My favorite blog articles that I read today, Wednesday, July 29, 2009:

1. What The Horizon Media Fail Can Teach You About Social Media by Copyblogger. Find out how one company is suing a dissatisfied tenant for microblogger their experience on Twitter. Or how not to handle bad publicity in the social media realm!

2. How To Motivate People To Buy by Copyblogger. You have likely heard that individuals make purchases based on emotion. Copyblogger does a great job of making this point and backs it up with the varying degrees of emotion that drive decision-making and ultimately the sale. Find out how to match your buyer’s emotion with your product or service offering!

3. You Are The Captain by Chris Brogan. You are in charge of your own destiny. Find out why and how Chris Brogan came to this realization!

4.  Cheerleader Sues School, Coach After Illicit Facebook Log-in by Ars Technica. Well this is a new one, at least for me – I guess it has been going on for quite some time though. People in positions of authority are now demanding log-in credentials to students and employees’ Facebook accounts. This article documents at least one high school and state attempt at securing credentials. I may be mistaken, but aren’t log-in credential meant to keep out individuals other than yourself? Perhaps next they will be requesting online banking credentials. The bigger question may be why are we as a society buckling to this sort of pressure and handing over private information?
