Alexa Rank – 7.29.09

As of our last monitoring of our Alexa rank as documented in “Alexa Rank – 7.28.09” we had a rank of 317,687. Our current rank as reported by Sparky is 310,125 a decrease of 7,562 from yesterday. Here are the next five websites that we are aware of with their corresponding rank:

1. Global Sugar Art – 286,108 (Increased 218)
2. WP-Smooth – 278,785 (Increased 707)
3. Harry Winston – 260,610
4. Cake Journal – 258,775 (Decreased 4,407)
5. Hitsville – 258,732 (Decreased 8,402)

Today we have surpassed Henri Bendel, and have removed that website from our listing. The next closest website that I am aware of in terms of rank is Global Sugar Art with a rank of 286,108. Given that we have been averaging a rank increase of 8,491 per day and Global Sugar Art has had an increase of 871 per day, we expect to surpass that site within four days – or August 2, 2009. The average was calculated by using the figures gained since we started this exercise on July 26, 2009 as documented in my article “Alexa Rank Monitoring.”

Since Henri Bendel dropped off our list, we added Harry Winston, which is a high-end jewelry retailer (I hadn’t heard of Harry Winston, but when I mentioned them to Amy she was all too familiar!). I had become aware of that site through Seth Godin’s “Meatball Sundae” which has proven to be a great resource for examples of companies who excel in doing business on the Internet. That site had a rank decrease of 1,807 over the past two days, or July 27, 2009. Hitsville is continuing to increase their ranking and surpassed Cake Journal for the top of our top five monitoring.
