Twine: How To Create An Account

In my article “Social Media – What Is Twine?” I had talked about a social media bookmarking site called Twine and how this site allows you to bundle content together by category for sharing among contacts. Today I will provide the steps required for creating an account on Twine as I set one up for Cape Cod Branding.
To create a new Twine account follow these steps:
1. At the Twine Home Page click “Join Twine” as shown below in Figure 1.

2. At the Sign Up Page enter the following within the individual fields as shown in Figure 2:
a. First Name
b. Last Name
c. E-mail
d. Username
e. Password
f. Password Confirmation
g. Copy the verification word
h. Check the box prior to “I agree to the Terms of Use.”
i. Once complete, click “Sign Up” button

3. At the “Profile” page complete the following as shown in Figure 3:
a. Select and upload your picture
b. Location
c. About me
d. List your interests
e. Right now, I’m most interested in…
f. Click the “Next step, please.” button.

4. As an option you may extend an invitation to a friend to join Twine by entering their e-mail address and then clicking the “Add” button as shown in Figure 4. In this instance I added Amy to my invite list.

5. Click the “Send Invitation” or “No Thanks” button depending on if you chose to send an invitation or not as shown in Figure 5.

6. At the “Join Twines” page check the boxes of Twines you would like to join, or check “Select All” to select them all as shown in Figure 6. Personally I had joined the “Technology Trends” and “Web 3.0 – Semantic Web” Twines to get myself started. Once complete click the “Next step, please.” button to proceed with selection, or “Skip” to bypass this step. As a reminder, a Twine is a grouping of items based on a particular subject.

7. At the “Bookmarklet” page, drag the “Add to Twine” button to your toolbar as shown in Figure 7.

8. Next click the “Done! Take me to Twine!” button as shown in Figure 8.

That’s it, you’re all set and ready to begin using Twine!
Create a new account and begin using Twine for yourself!
